We are pleased to begin accepting abstract submissions for the 2005 iHEA World Congress in Barcelona, Spain

Before you submit your abstract, you should review the instructions below and you may wish to check the example PDF (note that this example only illustrates the type of content you may wish to create, it is NOT indicative of the format of the intake process).

If you are a non-member, you must either pay the Non-Member Submission Fee or take out a 2004 membership to be assigned an account to submit. Remember - submitters with a 2004 iHEA membership have the submission fee waived!

If you plan on renewing your 2004 membership OR paying the submission fee, please do so as soon as possible.

Note that it can take a few days to create accounts for new iHEA members or non-members who paid the submission fee. If you wait until the last minute to arrange your membership or fee payment you may miss the submission deadline - Memberships or fees received after November 10, 2004 cannot be guaranteed access to the system. Beat the rush.

Instructions

Please note that we do not accept abstracts by e-mail. Should you have a problem with this please e-mail us.

Abstracts are limited to a 500 word maximum (please limit your use of multiple blank spaces as they affect the word count). The system will also not accept graphics, tables or charts, etc.

ALL abstracts must be submitted using the presenting author's account, you may not submit someone else's abstract with your account. There can be only one presenting author per abstract.

Submitting an abstract

  1. Click on the "Submit an Abstract" link at the bottom of this page to be sent to the Online Submission System
  2. Review and accept a User Rights Agreement (PDF). Click to download and review a copy before you proceed of you wish.
  3. Abstract submission:

Note that the abstract submitter will, by default, be listed as the presenting author.

Stage 1:

Enter/Select the following information:

  • Abstract Title
  • Abstract
  • At least one theme (3 is better)
  • At least one key term (3 is better)
  • Disclosure statement (if necessary)

Stage 2:

Add other authors. This is the preferred procedure:

  1. Search our database of iHEA members. Enter the last name in the search box and click on the "Search for Author" button. If the author is in our database, you can select the name and add them as a co-author. You should ensure that the person selected is the correct one since common names might be repeated.
  2. Add an author into the database. If your co-author is not in the system, click on the "Add a New Author" button and enter their contact information.

If all else fails:

There is an e-mail link which you can use to contact us if you have any problems adding your author details.

If you have any questions about the submission process, please contact us. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to your abstract submissions.
