The Southeastern Health Economic Study Group (SHESG) conference is designed to promote active exchange and discussion of leading health economics research among senior and junior economists. Ten papers will be accepted for presentation.

This year, the conference will be hosted by the Triangle Health Economics Workshop at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and will consist of a full day of presentations on Friday, October 19, and a half-day of presentations on Saturday, October 20. Each paper will be allotted one hour, including author presentation, discussant comments, and questions from the floor. Participants in the conference will be limited to presenters, discussants, and other invited guests. While abstract submissions are invited from any geographical location, preference will be given to presenters from the southeastern region of the United States.

If you would like to participate, please submit an abstract (maximum of two pages, including title, authors, and indication of presenting author) in electronic format (pdf preferred) to SHESG@hpaa.sph.unc.edu by May 15, 2007.

Papers should not be published or accepted for publication. Decisions will be made by June 15, 2007. Papers must be received by the conference organizers by October 1, 2007. (Presenters who fail to provide a paper by October 1st will have their paper replaced by a substitute.) Papers will be available to discussants and other participants via the website after October 1, 2007.

Some meals will be provided during the conference. All other expenses, including transportation and lodging, are the participants’ responsibility.
