Research Mentorship Awards: Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Training in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research

The Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Training in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research - 2008/2011 is launching a Call for Applications for the competitive Research Mentorship Awards in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research.
The competitive Research Mentorship Awards in mental health policy and economics are aimed at investing in international high quality research mentorship and at recognizing and supporting the mutual interest among:
- experts in mental health policy and economics research interested in international research mentorship, international research development and international consultancy
- researchers willing to focus their activities and career on mental health policy and economics to build/enhance research capacity and research grant application through international mentorship
The Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Training in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research offers to the different participants in the field of mental health policy and economics (clinicians, health economists, epidemiologists, health services and health policy researchers, sociologists) an interdisciplinary, rigorous, structured, introductory research training program combining coherently traditional face-to-face and internet-based training. The participants will have the opportunity to interact with internationally recognized distinguished authorities from different disciplines relevant for this research field; and will be mentored in the development of research plans, research publication, research presentation, and research grant applications.
The Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Training in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research relies on three segmented modules, that while consistently structured, are designed to be independent and “complete” in themselves.
- Module 1: Interdisciplinary Training - Module 1 provides a face-to-face interdisciplinary, introductory approach to the core components of the field of mental health policy and economics research to Participants and Research Mentees.
- Module 2: Introduction to Selected Research Pathways - Module 2 provides Participants and Research Mentees a face-to-face introduction to selected research pathways
- Module 3: Development, Discussion and Presentation Research Project Mentored Experience - Module 3 enables a selected number of Research Mentees to develop, discuss and present a research project through an internet and face-to-face mentorship. Participation in Module 3 will require also participation to Modules 1-2.
Modules 2-3 are closely related. They will be developed by the winners of the competitive Research Mentorship Awards in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research aimed at selecting the best research mentorship projects submitted by Candidate Research Mentors (Information at http://www.icmpe.org/).
