The Health Economics Interest Group (IG) Meeting will be held on June 7, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the day prior to the AcademyHealth 2008 Annual Research Meeting (ARM) on June 8–10 in Washington, D.C. The program for the IG meeting is developed by volunteer members of the IG advisory committee who are conducting this call for papers.
The meeting will be structured as a workshop, during which presenters will provide a detailed discussion of their motivation, methods, and results, and discussants will have the opportunity to comment on and critique papers. Audience participation also will be encouraged by giving attendees access to the manuscripts prior to the meeting. The goal is to offer researchers the opportunity to present their research in-depth in a setting that promotes a higher level of exchange. Presenters will be required to submit completed papers one month prior to the meeting in order to provide discussants and participants time to read the research and prepare thoughtful commentary during the meeting.
Call for Papers:?The Health Economics IG Meeting call for papers offers researchers the opportunity to disseminate research on topics that may not be featured during the ARM. Specifically, the papers presented during this meeting will emphasize the application of rigorous economic methods to health policy issues.
Submitted abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by a committee of volunteer reviewers. Authors of selected abstracts will be required to provide a full manuscript on or before May 7, 2008.
Abstracts will be accepted beginning October 15, 2007. Submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on November 26, 2007, to be considered. Only abstracts submitted online will be considered. We encourage you to submit early to ensure prompt confirmation and processing. Results of the review will be sent by December 21, 2007.
