The Health Care Executive MBA Program (HCEMBA) is a unique learning environment exclusively for individuals working in the health care industry who want to pursue an MBA degree. Recognized among the leading health care MBA programs in the nation, it is designed for health industry professionals who recognize the critical need for business, finance and management training to prepare them to advance and lead change in the health care arena. HCEMBA teaches you how to maximize opportunities in the complex, and ever changing, business world and health care industry. You learn the fundamentals of management and gain a thorough understanding of the economic, political and social dynamics that are reshaping the global business environment and the health care industry. Active use of information technology and the Internet are employed as powerful tools on how to strategically use and and manage information. Increasingly, students are finding that they can use what they learn about management, information and technology--combined with their knowledge of the health care industry--to advance their careers, identify new ways of making health care delivery more efficient and build new business models.
Classes are held once a month at the UC Irvine Graduate School of Management for 3 consecutive days, Thursday evening through Sunday noon. This concentrated schedule allows students from out of the area to attend and to complete their MBA degree in 24 months in order to maximize their learning while minimizing disruption from their work. HCEMBA is a comprehensive academic experience exclusively for professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, and the full range of medical professionals. Participants have significant relevant work experience, demonstrated leadership abilities and a proven track record of success.
