From the streets of Nouakchott to global health stages across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, my journey has been defined by one conviction: health economics is not just about numbers, it’s about people, equity, and hope.
As a medical doctor and health economist from the Global South, I have witnessed firsthand how financial constraints and policy gaps can define life and death. I have also seen how innovation, collaboration, and courage can change that story. That is why I seek to serve on the IHEA Board, as a voice for early-career researchers who believe that …your origin should never limit your impact on global health policies …
My work over the last decade has been rooted in building bridges between health and economics, between policy and implementation, and between the Global South and global decision-making platforms. As Co-Founder of Prophamedis International, Chief Compliance Officer at GCC RobosurgAIX LLC, GCC ambassador for Biotechnology Business Institute and community leader at Global Innovation Institute, I have led initiatives to connect investors, innovators, private sectors and governments in designing sustainable and equitable healthcare financing models grounded in ethics and compliance. As both a mentee and mentor, I realized how it’s difficult for young researchers to navigate the complex world of global health economics with confidence and determination.
I come from a region where early-career researchers often work in isolation, with limited mentorship or visibility. Yet, our ideas are bold, our realities urgent, and our solutions innovative.
If elected, I will champion four priorities:
- Empowering Early-Career Voices: creating inclusive mentorship and exchange platforms for Global South researchers within IHEA.
- Bridging Innovation and Equity: promoting dialogue to shape the future of sustainable health systems.
- Strengthening collaboration: Collaboration between south countries , between gender, generation, other sectors and discipline.
- Turning Research into Action: Combining my roles as researcher, strategist, and advisor, I will bridge evidence with policy and investment.
IHEA represents a global community united by the belief that health economics can transform societies. I want to ensure that this transformation includes every voice, especially those too often unheard. My contributions to the Nouakchott Declaration on Organ Donation, Marrakesh Declaration for African Health Sovereignty, and the Harm Reduction Manifesto 2025 (New international public health policies for south countries) have taught me the power of collective advocacy rooted in regional experience and global solidarity.
I stand for collaboration over competition, inclusion over isolation, and vision over boundaries. Together, we can redefine what it means to lead from the Global South, not from the margins, but from the heart of global decision-making.
I invite you to vote for a voice of transformation.
Vote for representation that connects research to real-world change.
Vote for a Global South researcher who believes that our diversity is the foundation of our collective strength.
