I am Ha Le and am standing for the iHEA early-career researcher (ECR) Global North Director position. I am a committed and high-performing ECR (<4 years post-PhD) at Deakin University, Australia, with a proven track record of research excellence (67 publications (25 as first/senior author), 11 reports, $4M in grant income as Chief Investigator, and three Institute of Health Transformation (IHT) Future Leader awards (2013, 2020, 2022)).

My research program provides evidence on the value-for-money of health interventions and the economic impact of child health conditions (e.g. ADHD). I have been an iHEA member for over ten years and actively engaged with EMCRs worldwide. As an ECR, I have witnessed the challenges ECRs face, ranging from limited mentorship, partnership and funding opportunities to navigating interdisciplinary collaborations and publishing pressures. My motivation stems from my own experience and a belief that the future of health economics depends on how well we nurture and support emerging researchers. I envision a more inclusive and connected global community where ECRs are not only supported but actively engaged in shaping the direction of the health economics field.

Internationally, I actively strengthen the health economics profession by fostering international knowledge-sharing as the international collaboration convenor (since 2021) for the iHEA Child Health SiG (about 200 members globally). I have convened three international research showcase events (2023-2025), with participants from 6 countries. Recently, I mentored ECRs at the 2025 iHEA World Congress Mentoring Event.

As Faculty Advisor for the ISPOR Victoria and Tasmania Student Chapter since 2022, I have mentored ECRs across four universities (Melbourne, Monash, Deakin, and Tasmania) to deliver three EMCR events (2022–2025). I also mentored ECRs at the 2025 Australian Health Economics Society Mentoring Event. My leadership and research excellence in ADHD were recognised through my invitation to join the Research Committee of the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA) in 2023, where I co-led the submission to the 2024 Senate Inquiry on early childhood health and development checks and helped organise the annual AADPA Conference. In 2024, I received the Florence Levy Emerging Researcher Award for my significant contributions to ADHD research. At Deakin, I co-chair the IHT EMCR Committee (since 2021), representing over 200 EMCRs. I have led over 30 highly-rated EMCR events. In 2021-22, I also co-led the School seminar series, convening over 30 seminars to foster knowledge exchange. My excellent leadership is also evidenced in my mentorship and supervision of 3 researchers, 7 PhD and 10 Master students.

I bring to this role a collaborative spirit, strategic thinking, and a track record of building bridges between academia, policy, and practice. I am confident that my experience and passion will contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s mission and to the global health economics community. I look forward to serving and working alongside colleagues who share a vision for a more inclusive and impactful future.
