As a global professional association, iHEA is deeply concerned about the ongoing, indiscriminate attacks by the Russian military in Ukraine leading to mass civilian casualties, destruction of infrastructure and an escalating humanitarian crisis. We are particularly concerned about the attacks on hospitals and the devastating, long-term impact of the war on the Ukrainian health system and the physical and mental health of Ukrainians. We join the call for a swift and peaceful resolution to the war, which has and will continue to have health and economic consequences for many around the world.
A growing number of institutions are offering placements for academics and their families fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. iHEA will support this effort by disseminating information on such opportunities made available to us.
