It’s been more than two years since we held our webinar on surging our health workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic and one year since we had our coffee chat during the iHEA virtual Congress. Many members of our SIG played important roles in helping their countries and local regions respond to the pandemic, and now many of us are addressing its aftermath.
As we approach the 2023 Congress in Cape Town, we aim to bring our SIG members together for planning time to convene and share our research and experiences in supporting policy and practice over the past two years. Please share your thoughts about what activities you’d like us to undertake this year. And, please let me know if you’d like to be involved in organizing our activities over the next year or two! Several people on our SIG leadership team (including me) have taken on new roles in our workplaces that limit our time for this work, and we also want to develop the next cadre of health workforce research leaders. Leading a SIG event is a great way to network, serve the scholarly community, and support the dissemination of important new knowledge.
Please email me at joanne.spetz@ucsf.edu with your ideas and to volunteer!
